Get to know a little more about the team at DG Smith Insurance Brokers.

Quincy Huntley, BCom, CAIB

President

Quincy joined DG Smith Insurance in October 2012 after graduating from McMaster University with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree. Quincy confidently knew insurance was the industry she wanted to pursue a career in and ambitiously obtained her RIBO license in July 2012 before securing a broker position. With the desire to learn, Quincy enhanced her insurance knowledge in 2015 when she received her Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation. Quincy was one of the top five CAIB graduates in 2015. In December 2016, Quincy obtained her unrestricted Level II Brokers license. Quincy received the Chris Ward Memorial Award for obtaining the highest mark on the first attempt of the Level II examination. It was not long until she had to put her unrestricted license to use, as she became the Principal Broker and co-owner of DG Smith on February 1, 2017. Quincy’s out-going personality, professionalism and attention to detail provides efficient service. Growing up in the community themselves, Quincy and her husband Clay are so grateful to be raising their children in Uxbridge. When Quincy is not assisting clients at the office you can find her out on the soccer field, the golf course or dining at a local restaurant.

Laura Huntley, MSc, CAIB

Vice President

Laura is a third generation Insurance Broker. She began her career in insurance at a young age working at her family’s brokerage in administration and processing. Laura obtained a Master’s of Science degree from the University of Guelph in 2008 and a Bachelor of Education from UOIT in 2011. Since, Laura has worked as a schoolteacher and as a nutritionist for food companies including Kraft and Kellogg’s. With her diverse background, Laura brings a variety of skills to the team. Laura obtained her RIBO license in February 2017 and is currently working toward completing her Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation. As co-owner of DG Smith, Laura strives to develop relationships with our customers based on trust, integrity and professional advice while providing friendly service that exceeds clients’ expectations. Outside of the office, Laura enjoys cooking, gardening and spending time with her family in the outdoors.

Dawn McCarthy, RIB

Senior Account Manager, Commercial and Personal Lines

Dawn began her insurance career in June 2009 as an Account Administrator. We quickly realized her strengths needed to be utilized and in July 2010 she obtained her RIBO license and moved into an Account Manager position. Dawn understands today’s customer requires timely, friendly and proactive service. When not providing quality assistance to her clients Dawn enjoys spending time with her husband Pat and their three sons or if tranquility calls you can find her wrapped up in a good book.

Ginny Arseneau-Berney, RIB

Personal Lines Manager

Ginny began her insurance career in 2006 as a technical service representative. She soon realized customer service was her calling and obtained her RIBO in 2007. Ginny has a passion for helping others and creating a positive customer experience. Ginny recognizes the importance of insurance and is happy to complete a policy review to ensure her clients have a thorough understanding of their coverage. Outside of the office Ginny loves to spend time with her family and friends, head out fishing with her husband and relaxing by the pool. … and eating.

Connie Mason, RIB

Account Manager, Commercial and Personal Lines

Connie has been working in the insurance industry since 1993. We were beyond thrilled to welcome her to the DG Smith team in June of 2017. Having been licensed since 1994, Connie’s extensive knowledge of insurance products ensures her client’s assets are always well protected. When Connie is not in the office she enjoys camping and traveling in her trailer with her family and friends. Connie also enjoys participating in antique tractor shows and clubs with her husband.

Helen Ahranis, RIB

Account Manager, Personal Lines

Helen began her Insurance career in 1991 with one of Canada’s leading property and casualty insurance companies. In 1997, Helen left her role as an Underwriter to become a Broker where she was able to deal directly with the public and offer them her product knowledge and personalised customer service. In 2019, Helen made her move to live and work in Uxbridge and joined our team at D.G Smith Insurance Brokers. Helen and her husband are old school car enthusiasts and enjoy cruises and Classic Car Shows.

Judi Freeman, CAIB

Account Manager, Personal Lines

Judi returned to DG Smith Insurance in March of 2020, after originally starting her career here in 2003. Obtaining her RIBO license in 2003, Judi then heightened her insurance knowledge in 2005, attaining her Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designation. Judi’s positive and energetic attitude, attention to detail, insurance knowledge and experience, ensure our clients receive trusted and professional service. Judi is an active person who enjoys golf, hiking, gardening and Bootcamp. Her family is her greatest pride and joy.

Amanda Leigh, RIB

Account Assistant

Amanda has been dedicated to the administration field for over 14 years. Working in administration, Amanda has held many different roles including reception, technology coordinator, sales administrator and operations manager. Amanda is extremely customer focused and takes great pride in her work. Amanda started a new chapter in the insurance industry, gaining her RIBO license and joining our team at DG Smith Insurance Brokers in 2019. Amanda and her husband Sean live in Uxbridge and are thrilled to be raising their 2 children here. Outside of the office, Amanda and her family love spending time at their family cottage in Muskoka.

Kayleigh Hickey, RIB

Producer

Kayleigh began her insurance career in 2013 as a technical service representative. She quickly realized she wanted to further her insurance knowledge and obtained her RIBO licence in 2014. After working as a personal lines account manager for a few years, Kayleigh decided to take on the challenge of diving into commercial insurance and has enjoyed assisting commercial clients ever since. Kayleigh understands the importance of providing professional and friendly customer service as well as educating clients on their insurance needs and appropriate insurance products. Outside of the office, you can find Kayleigh on the golf course, running with her dog on trails, or swimming with her husband and son at the family cottage near Minden.
