Our History

D.G. Smith Insurance was originally established by David Smith in January 1981 and operated from his home office for over 25 years. In December 2002, David hired his daughter-in-law Keri, who was prepared to start growing the company and in March 2005, the company moved from the comfortable confines of the home office to a retail space in Uxbridge.

With more clients and larger space, the firm saw the return of Dave’s son, Kevin who brought a huge value in his corporate expertise. The next generation was underway. The profitable growth of the next five years saw Keri and Kevin positioned to purchase D.G. Smith Insurance: Dave moved on to fulfill his retirement plans.

After 14 years of hard work in the insurance industry, Keri decided to pursue her passion and take over her family’s charitable organization, The Pottruff Foundation. In February 2017, born and raised Uxbridge residents, Quincy Huntley (Boadway) and Laura Huntley (Beaton), took the opportunity to purchase and manage the brokerage. These two women bring youthfulness, energy and a modern creative approach to the brokerage while maintaining the excellent customer service DG Smith clients are accustomed to. With customer satisfaction and growth as two key factors in their philosophy, Quincy and Laura will continue to operate DG Smith Insurance as a family business serving our local community and beyond.
